She is growing up!

I know I shouldn't think that this story is funny, but I have been laughing since it happened. Megan got her braces on today, being a little sore we went to the store to get her some lunch that was soft since she missed lunch at school. We were at the checkout and the bagger started asking me about Megan. He wanted to know if she was an 85. I said what? He asked again. I said I didn't understand. He wanted to know if she was born in 1985, I said no 1997. He got this look on his face and shook his head and turned around. He was disappointed. I know I shouldn't think its funny that an adult male was interested in my 11 year old daughter, but when in this world did she start looking that old? Megan was so embarrassed, while I could not get control of myself. Mind you I did wait until we were out of range of the bagger to loose complete control. Meg's teenage years are going to be a roller coaster ride, wish us luck!

Megan Braces

Megan went to the Ortho thinking that she would be getting a spacer put in her mouth, this was our third attemp. Each time it came back wrong, this time was no different, it was wrong. Dr. Payne (don't you just love the name) decided that was enough and is now using braces instead and then in a few months she will get metal springs put in hooking the bottom and top teeth to make her upper teeth move back to make more room. Fun stuff!

First Football Game

I had to add this picture since this is my worst fear. They are NOT coming for anyone on our team, this was from the game before, but it doesn't make me feel any better. Alan didn't want me to take a picture, but I said that I had to express my fears this way.

Zac turned right as I took the shot, this is my favorite!

Zac is playing football this year instead of Fall Ball. It took me by surprise when he came home from practice and announced he like it a lot better than baseball. This sport was hard for me to accept since I am afraid of the hurt factor. I am getting better, there is so much action and so many boys in each play that it is hard to notice who is getting hit, that is a plus for me. He did a great job, it is definatly funner to watch than baseball. Go Bingham Bantams!!! Zac #46! We won 20-0!!!!!

It is never dull!

True to character I am upset again with my builder. Many of you know that we have had all sorts of stupid problems and lousy subcontractors come work on our home. We had our driveway replaced last October due to it crumbled. The builder agreed to do it as warranty work. Today I got a lien notice on my house because Destination never paid for the concrete. Needless to say I am livid, I have called and told them, they are going to discuss it at their meeting today. The receptionist asked me if I was another woman by name so I now know of another name that this is happening too, I was led to believe by a former employee it was $20,000.00 worth so there are quite a few of us. Wish us luck again!

Donuts

Oh my word! Does the picture make you hungry? Zac, Ethan and Kip helped me pick up 50 dozen donuts for the 7th Grade Orientation at Elk Ridge. I am so glad they volunteered, can you imagine me with four carts (I had the fourth one). They also came and volunteered at the school helping the new kids find their classes during the day. Thanks guys!

Swimming with old friends

Megan, Aubrey, Zac, Garrett, Collin, Jonathon

Sammy, Hannah P., Aubrey

Garrett being told by the lifeguard that cannonballs in the hot tub aren't a good thing!

We have had so many reunions these past couple of weeks. My 20th high school reunion (yes, I am that old), lunch with high school friends, all of the members of our ward in California got together, and then the kids had two boys over from California Jonathon and Collin. We took the boys swimming and had a lot of fun. You would not believe the bubbles that came out of the hot tub, it was so bad that they had to pull kids out. I think someone had soap on their suit.

Fear of a life time!

We decided that we were going to give a try to the idea of the girls walking Garrett home from school, today was our trial run. It didn't go to well. Partly my fault. Janeil and I were outside waiting for our boys. The first grade came out and we waited and waited. The teacher went to check if they were still in the classroom. Not there. Panic starts to set in. I sent Meg to go look for him, no luck. Garrett's scooter was already gone from the bike racks so we thought maybe they walked home alone which they aren't suppose to do. I had Megan run home with me not far after her. We get home (we have a keypad so hoped he was in the house) and yelled his name but nothing. By this time I am completely worn out and freaking out. I had left Aubrey at the school to continue looking and most all of the school kids are by this point gone. We are at the half hour mark and I get a call from Aubrey at the school that she has finally found them. They misunderstood their teacher and went out the wrong doors and were standing by themselves by the car drop off lanes. The safety patrol never brought them in like they were suppose too, the kids are new at this job it happens. Needless to say I think we need some more practice with Mom making sure it works for a while. I took him in the school and we walked through coming out the right door and where to meet. I will always be a mess worrying about him but I have to give a go. Wish me luck!

Harbor Ward Reunion

The Bond Family

Amber and Cristen (please try not to see the food spilled on my pants - it was really hot!)

Leah, Megan, Zac, Aubrey, Naomi, Amber, Calista and Ed

Many of the members of our ward in California have moved to Utah. Three of the previous bishops held a reunion. It was fun! We got reacquainted with old friends, Alan got to see friends that he grew up with he hasn't seen in twenty years. We went expecting to see a few families and there was probably fifty people there, amazing! It was great to see you Amber!

First Day of School

Today is the first day of school for Garrett, Aubrey and Megan. It is a bittersweet day! Happy and sad at the same time. Sad because my baby is going to school all day now, happy because my baby is going to school ALL day! Isn't that mean, I am excited to have me time again, it has been 13 1/2 years since I have had that. Happy first day of school guys!

We are pleased to announce the new President Garside! Zac was called to be the Deacon's Quorum President at church. We are very proud of him. He has Michael B as 1st counselor, Zachary K. as 2nd councilor, and of course Ethan B. as Secretary. An awesome group of boys, they will do a great job!

Night Games

Shannon in our ward has been organizing night games for families on Mondays. It is called "Kick the Can". We play other games as well. The kids had a blast playing Judge, Kick the Can, British Bulldog, and we hear they played Ships and Shores after we left. It was great!

(These are camera phone pics so not very good, but fun).

New York Pictures

Mouse and New York

Well I am at home with three of my kids extremely jealous of Alan and Zac. They are in New York City as I write sitting in Yankee Stadium. I am very jealous since they toured Ground Zero and went to Ellis Island to the Statue of Liberty. There was an extra ticket to the game but time and children were not on our side for me to go. Oh well, he better bring me something good- just kidding-not I am serious! Anyway while they are away I got the privilege of dealing with a dead mouse one of my cats brought in the house. My way of dealing is to make Garrett do it, he had no problem with it.
In other news the trial date for our lovely check thief is tomorrow. Alan was going to have to testify but since she is pleading guilty they let him off the hook. I wish that I was there to face her though. Oh well, I hope we hear the outcome.

Angel Moroni

We got to witness the most amazing thing today! The Angel Moroni being raised onto the Oquirrh Temple! Zac had been told by his old scout leader about it, Kent works on the Oquirrh Temple site. We almost forgot about it, we happened to notice while driving and remembered. The only one of the kids able to join us was Garrett. We filmed it for the rest of them to see. These are some great pictures!

News

So we heard from the prosecuting attorney about the check fraud today. yeah! It looks like Anita (scarey that I actually use her name) is going to plead guilty for trying to fraudulently steal from our bank account! We don't know what her sentence will be (Alan isn't sure he wants to know - we might not be happy with it). I think I might call the prosecutor though and find out if they found any info that might relate to our other fraud problems, it is probably a stretch but worth a try!

Summer is off to a great start!

Wow, summer is now in full swing for our house. This morning at 6am Zac took off for a week of scout camp (the time of year I hate, no cell phones allowed and mom is in constant panic of how he is). Megan and Aubrey started dance camp today, they will be doing this for two weeks 5 1/2 hours a day. Busy! They also start volleyball tomorrow which will keep them busy in the evenings for three weeks. Garrett and I had fun at the splash pool today. Then, the girls had the energy so we went, the pool opened up today in our community. I was pleasantly surprised, the pool had looked less than impressive when being built, but surprisingly big when we could actually got in.

Tuesday, July 1, 2008

Oh my word!

Amy, Mrs. Flitton, Aubrey and Hannah P.
Megan and Mrs. Williams

Courtney, Whitney, Megan, Summer, Kaili, Kenzie (top to bottom)

So we still have the good news that the woman with the fraudulent checks was caught but now we are told by the police that there was a second check that was actually cashed! I may go insane soon, please don't hold it against me.

On a brighter note today was the last day of school and the kids are out for six weeks! We will have to find a lot for them to do. Here are some cute pics of the girls and their teachers.
