Theft Update

Wow! It has been a whirlwind problem for us. We started with the Amex cards on Saturday, then Monday got a call from Bank of America about a possible fraud application. BofA helped us out a lot, they put us in touch with someone that greatly helped us out with finding how much was out there. Tues. and Wed. we didn't get any mail, we started to worry. Thursday no mail, panic! Alan and I went to the post office today to see if someone did a hold and YES they had. They put a vacation hold on til the 27th trying to get the cards. STRESS!!!! We made a trip across the street to the police (2nd time this year) and filled out another police report. They told us to go back to the post office and request that the hold sign be left up with a note on it so that when the people come to try and get our mail from the hold possibly they can be caught! We are also hopeful that the people will be caught on their surveillance cameras. Pray that it happens, please! We think we have been very lucky because in the mail they gave us today there was a renewal letter from our medical insurance with all of our names and birthdays listed, they would have gotten a lot more than credit cards. So now we wait, hopefully something worthwhile comes of all of this.

Enlightening Events

So life has been fun this past weekend. Where to start. Thursday and Friday I went to BYU for the PTA Convention. Thursday not so good, Friday was great (I know remember why I go there each year). I took a class on getting free college for kids and an identity theft class to protect your kids identity. I learned so much from these classes. The identity theft class was done by the assistant attorney general for Utah. Many of you know that Alan's identity was used to go Christmas shopping in December. We got those four accounts taken care of and have always wanted a better way than a temporary fraud alert to protect him since they still have his information whoever they are. What a coincidence that the next day the fraud started again! I was so mad! American Express set up an account and then yesterday we got a call from the fraud department at Bank of America asking if we applied for a card. Thank goodness they are bright and called us, not only did they not open the account but they gave us a number that now has the police and FBI being involved since this time a woman (not me) actually put their name as a joint person on the apps. So we now feel empowered due to Bank of America and my class I took that we are freezing the credit of Alan, myself and all four kids. It is an amazing program, let me know if you want to know the info. Freeze your credit so no one can use it and when you need to get credit there is way to use it for you through an id number they give you in the beginning! Awesome!
We had friends over for dinner Sunday after church and had a blast. We had over a couple of people we know well that will be in the new ward.
The best part - National Treasure 2 came out today! Love it!

Mother's Day

Mother's Day was great despite a few kinks. Our ward was split today, not a great Mother's Day idea. It had a few ladies in tears. Our ward has been together too long for anyone to be happy no matter where they split. We are still in the 5th ward while many of our friends are now in the 13th. Now for the big one, while having Mother's Day dinner at my house Garrett comes out crying with a bloody nose. In our house this is common for him, he gets bloody noses a lot sometimes for no reason at all. The big clencher was when I asked him if he picked his nose, his answer was no I stuck a screw up it. I found the screw, not a little one but a huge one that has blood on it. Moral of the story, do not stick a screw up your nose, it HURTS!! It was a great day, I even got to meet an great-aunt I have never had the opportunity to meet before. Happy Mother's Day!!!!

Family Blogs

We have spent a lot of time with Alan's family this week. It has been a lot of fun, a nephew getting married and his sister having baby in a couple of months so there was a shower for her. I found out about all of the family blogs that all of the nieces and nephews have. It has been fun to look at them, especially the ones that are out of state.

Playing Ball

We had a fun day of kite flying and baseball in the backyard! Alan thought it would be fun to hide, he doesn't realize that I post anything.

Crazy Hat Day

Our community center had a tween activity (7-11 year olds) that was a Crazy Hat Day. The girls got in the spirit. Megan poses with her friend Gabi from school. Aubrey poses for the camera.

Mother Daughter Lunch

Aubrey's activity day group had a Mother Daughter lunch for Mother's day. It was really fun. Here is a picture of Annie and Aubrey painting flower pots. It was too windy so I was wrapped in a blanket and forgot to take more pictures!

Ms. Smoot's Bridal Shower

Megan's fourth grade teacher Ms. Smoot is getting married, she invited Megan and her friend Bryn to her shower. We had a great time. Megan, Aubrey and I went together. Congratulations Ms. Smoot!
